About Me

I am Usman, an Electrical Engineering graduate of NED University of Engineering and Technology, with over a year of hands-on experience in technical sales and project delivery.

I began my career at DSG Energy as a Renewable Technical Sales Engineer, contributing to large-scale industrial projects totalling upwards of 6 MW and B2C engagements totalling up to 60 kW. I am currently with GCS (Pvt.) Ltd as a Technical Sales & Projects Engineer, working across B2G accounts, including the State Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan and Karachi Port Trust, as well as B2B accounts such as HBL, Shaukat Khanum and Bahria Town Karachi.

Beyond my professional and academic work, I am a published researcher with papers featured on IEEE Xplore and ResearchGate. I have also developed a number of academic projects, including my Final Year Project that secured 3rd place at the Electrical Engineering Exhibition 2025. I have also led several student organizations, including ORYZOR, IET On Campus NEDUET, and the Immunity Scouts Campaign.

Renewable Energy

Delivered engineering and system design for industrial and residential solar projects totalling around 6 MW with DSG Energy.

Government & Enterprise

Produced technical documentation and BOQs for government tenders at GCS (Pvt.) Ltd, on projects including SBP, HBL, KIA Motors, KPT and PSPC.

Published Research

Two papers published across IEEE Xplore and ResearchGate on solar tracking and automation.

  • Led end-to-end delivery of B2B and infrastructure projects (HBL, PSPC, NICL), managing scope, specifications and cross-functional coordination from initiation to completion.
  • Developed detailed technical BOQs and project documentation, ensuring full specification compliance, accurate material take-offs and alignment with client requirements.
  • Coordinated with engineering, procurement and on-site teams to track deliverables, resolve technical issues and maintain project schedule adherence.
  • Produced project reports and dashboards using Power BI and CRM platforms, translating technical data into management-ready documentation and status updates.
  • Interfaced with government procurement stakeholders to manage approvals, compliance verification and technical clarifications throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Sales Engineer — DSG Energy

Nov 2025 — Jan 2026
  • Managed simultaneous delivery of residential and industrial solar projects totaling up to 6 MW capacity, overseeing the full project lifecycle from site survey and feasibility through design, procurement and commissioning.
  • Conducted aerial drone inspections and technical site assessments to define project scope, evaluate electrical layout, quantify shading impact and validate system feasibility.
  • Prepared comprehensive technical proposals, electrical designs, load calculations and financial models using Helioscope, PVSyst, SAP and AutoCAD, ensuring deliverables met client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinated with vendors and procurement teams to plan equipment delivery schedules, mitigate supply chain risks and maintain on-site installation milestones across 40+ kW of monthly deployments.
  • Served as the primary technical liaison between clients, installation crews and management, translating engineering constraints into actionable project decisions.

MEP Electrical Intern — Aga Khan University Hospital

  • Gained practical exposure to MEP electrical systems, maintenance procedures, and power distribution within a large-scale healthcare facility.
  • Assisted in monitoring and understanding the hospital's electrical power distribution and transmission systems, including coordination across various facility areas.
  • Contributed to the design and planning of a solar-panel parking structure, gaining exposure to solar PV system integration and layout considerations.
  • Documented MEP workflows and maintenance activities, developing an understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and facility operations.

Electrical Intern — Amreli Steels Limited

  • Gained hands-on exposure to industrial electrical systems, including MCC panels, motor systems, and commissioning procedures in a large-scale steel manufacturing environment.
  • Monitored the plant's 11kV electrical distribution system, supporting power distribution from the grid station to various production machinery.
